Good Moral Story

A very famous guruji had few disciples. One day the guruji felt some thing smelling very bad. He enquired about the smell. It was found to be the smell of socks, one of his disciples was wearing. Guruji ordered the disciple to change the socks and come. The disciple followed the order. But again the smell continued to be there. Guruji was very much annoyed and asked if he had changed the socks. The disciple replied that he has changed and showed him the fresh changed pair. But the bad smell continued to be there. Guruji again asked the disciple very angrily about the old pair, where he has kept them, the disciple simply took them out of his pocket. He was carrying them with him!

Moral: We change according to the times but it is very much required to learn what to keep with us and what to leave.

Politics of India Part 1: JUMPERS, need or greed?

Any where is possible. A guy who has some extra-ordinary powers in his DNA, teleporting they call it, can go to any place he wishes. Sees a picture of Pyramids, the next moment he is found sitting on the apex of those giant constructions enjoying his pint of beer. Oops, I better get into what I wanted to write not the review of the Hollywood movie JUMPER released earlier this year.

That was a film, but dont u think we can find JUMPERs in our very society?? Sure, we can. Politicians are the main people I am talking about.

Jumpers have been from ages. Every great kingdom had them. More of them were left out as backstabbers. For years together they stay with a person or a group or some ideology and jump out or part-away with some reasons. Not all reasons have sense. These jumpers try to show that there is a need why they jump, I am afraid, in most of the cases greed is the key. Yes, differences do arise, most of which can be fixed. But parting ways has always been the preference.

Recent moves of some politicians in Andhra Pradesh made me to write this. The names have not been mentioned but can be well understood who are from AP.

A prominent leader from the current opposition party of AP is the latest of our jumpers. He is said to be the number 2 , has been in the party for over 25 years, serving the party and people with various posts. But the consequences of his jumping should be thought of for a moment. I am bothered not about the party he quit or party he is going to join or party he is going to float, my concern is about the resignation from his post of MLA. Does not it lead to a bye-election again? Who is going to bear the election costs? The public. This gentleman has left his party with a demand; a demand which has been 'patented' by some other political party: separate Telangana State. Moreover, he is not interested to join hands with that party who are demanding the separate state from few years. But if he really wants to go on with his demand, cant he join that party and pressurize the government? Here is where the need n greed come into scene. It is left to who ever is reading this decide what his actual intention is.

There is one more political party formed demanding a seperate state of Telangana, out of AP. What is the need to split the state? They say that the other people of the state are exploiting them. Can any one please tell me what exactly has been exploited from them? When every resource is there in most parts of Telangana, isnt it their responsibility to use them? Every now and then, they come out with slogans demanding the separation of state and resigning from their posts. Was there really any need to resign? They could have chosen many ways to protest and get their demands done.

Most of those leaders in the party are those jumpers from other parties. The very founder of the seperate Telangana party himself was a jumper from a major local party. Adding more to this, the current head of that major local party was also a jumper from a national party.

Jump from one party to the other, resign from the post of MLA or MP. It is no more a child's play. I think a resolution should be made by the Govt of India and amended into the constitution to curb all these jumpers. Under any circumstances except death, a MLA or MP should not resign from the post which requires an election to replace him/her or change his party. Any person breaching this, disqualifies him/her or a related family member from contesting the bye-elections for the whole term and also there would be no candidate in the constituency for the party the person has resigned from or joined into, till the next general elections.

This is never really going to happen unless the Supreme Court intervenes and does some thing to save the country. May be as citizens of India, we can do some thing to alert the supreme body. Just think about it!

* I am writing this not as a spokesperson or an activist or a representative of any political party, even though I am a sympathizer for some party of my individual choice.

To Parents, With Love

This is an essay from a school day competition that got the First prize to a girl named Pinky.

Hii Mom and Dad

You are the best parents I have ever known. Mama and papa the best. Love you. You have always been very kind to me. I always got what I wanted. You have given me the best of the things I can ever have. The best mobile in market, the best laptop, made me a part of the best International school, clothes and accessories of the best brands.

I enjoy them. I enjoyed every gazette I had. I have very good friends at school. My teachers are all from the most reputed Universities. I am being taught the most required and happening technologies, languages, cultures, manners and what not, every thing very much required growing up in my career.

Mom and Dad, u are the best, I tell u. U have always given me all that was wanted. U have taken me to Disneyland all along, given me the biggest teddy which I find difficult to hug.

But dad I tell u, it wasn’t the teddy I wanted to hug always; it was your hug I always needed. I remember an ad in newspaper, a man posing in Raymonds suit and a baby on his chest with the captions Entrepreneur and Pillow respectively. I do get a doubt, have I slept on your chest and felt the warmth and protection of a dad? I have known different faces from my childhood, so called-nannies. I remember them carrying me around in the lawn of our home on their shoulders. The ad has made a stronger imprint on my heart and is embossed in my deeper thoughts.

Mom, I have the silkiest hair, silkier than those models shown in shampoo ads I feel. You have taken me the best manicure and pedicure centers in city. But mom, I always needed the motherly touch n feel which is no way compared to the rental touch n feel I get in those centers.Mom and Dad, I am not old enough to teach u, but the teachers at my school have always given me the best language and wording to use. You have provided me with all I wanted but it’s rather a sad thing to tell, I never got what I needed. Love n care is what I needed not all the materialistic stuff and technical worldly things. I always wanted to tell u this but I never found u sharing some time with me to discuss. U were always busy with your boss meetings or outings or team lunches, all alone I used to spend the time with the maid or friends at school. I can count on my fingers the quieter times we had for ourselves. We have always been out at the coffee days or pizza huts or malls. I always dreamt of spending some time with you quietly at home lying in mom's lap and clasp dad’s hand. The visualization fascinates me a lot. I love the mood of that. But the dream has always been a dream like water in a mirage. I enjoyed the dream. I hope my brother who is sleeping quietly inside mom gets all the love n care I have missed.

Love u
